Overview

This one is something I got out of dessert photography, where I aimed at capturing the texture, freshness, and visual appeal of artisan pastries. The work is about the delicate layers and rich details of a croissant being accentuated with the soft, more elegant feeling. I controlled 100%, the concept, the food design, lighting, the design, the photography. The visual aspect of the picture is also focused upon powdered sugar falling onto the pastry giving a sense of movement and depth and allowing it to feel fresh. In the end, a bit of berries, flowers and nuts were placed just right alongside the dessert to create a composition. By using controlled lighting and photo composition to convey texture and a refined presentation of a dessert, the image was rendered warmly. Through lighting, composition, and timing, the project will examine how food photography can transform simple culinary subjects into something visually exciting.
